Charles began assisting the hearing impaired at 12 years old as a staff member in his family owned Beltone practice, started by his grandfather in 1945 and continued by his father. He was officially licensed as a Hearing Aid Dispenser at 19 years old in 1993 after apprenticing under his father, and became a licensed Audiologist in 2003.
When Charles isn’t managing his patients and Beltone practice, he can usually be found enjoying spending time with his wife and daughter.
He earned a Master of Arts (M.A.), in Hearing and Speech Sciences, with a concentration in Audiology from University of Maryland, College Park in 2002; a Bachelor of Science (B.S.), in Biological Sciences, with a concentration in Zoology from University of Maryland, College Park in 1997; and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), in Hearing and Speech Sciences from University of Maryland, College Park in 1997. He further completed all Pre-Medicine/Pre-Medical coursework in 1997. He further received internship training while in graduate school at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, D.C., Fall 1998; Kennedy Krieger Institute, Baltimore, Md., Spring 1999; and Washington Area Group for the Hard of Hearing (WAGHOH) Assistive Listening Device Center, Spring 1998. Charles received training in Cerumen Management (Earwax Removal) from coursework sponsored by the Academy of Dispensing Audiologists and the Georgia Speech Language Hearing Association.
He holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence-Audiology (CCC-A), from the American Speech Language Hearing Association and is a Fellow of of the American Academy of Audiology (FAAA). He currently holds licensure in the States of Maryland and Delaware, as well as the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Charles completed his Clinical Fellowship-Audiology while employed by Hearsay Hearing Centers, operating in the States of Delaware and Maryland as well as the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 2001. He returned to work full time in his family owned Beltone practice in 2003 and became managing member and majority owner in 2014.
Charles was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout by the Boy Scouts of America.
